Nelly joined the TIDES team in 2010. Her focus is the African region and
outreach and support to the United States African Command (USAFRICOM). Prior to joining the TIDES project, Nelly worked for the Terrorism, Transnational Crime and Corruption Center at George Mason University. Nelly holds her bachelor degree from the University of Arizona in Political Science and her master’s degree from George Mason University’s School of Public Policy. Nelly is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kinshasa and has experienced first-hand the consequences of conflict and is excited about learning more from TIDES.
