Information Assurance: Trends in Vulnerabilities, Threats, and Technologies

Books-005Edited By: Jacques S. Gansler and Hans Binnendijk

This book explores insights into the risks and vulnerabilities inherent in the use of information technology in the battlefield and military systems. The Department of Defense dramatically shifted its view, understanding that the explosive changes in information technology would transform the future of military operations. The challenge for the transformed military is to use information technologies to build a highly adaptive, high performance, and interoperable system infrastructure that is resilient, degrades slowly (if at all) under attack, and reconstitutes itself in a secure mode while under attack. Network centric warfare is key to the military’s future but this book seeks to highlight the vulnerabilities and limitations of this technology.
